Open house - Danish garage transformed to cool loft

Isn't this loft just so cool? It is situated in a former garage builing in Denmark. I love the rough look, the concrete ceiling and floors and also the use of concrete look in the bathroom. I also love the open look of the space. It has so much character. This loft was designed by Danish interior designer Katrine Martensen-Larsen from KML design. It's friday! So that means it's weekend! And it is a long one because on monday everyone here has a day off. What are you doing this weekend? Tell me your exciting plans! The weekend also means it is time again for me to give you my quick list of favorite things of this week. So here it goes!

Eye candy

I like this livingroom - the dark wall, comfy looking grey couch with the different kinds of cushions on it (I think I spotted a H&M cushion on the far right, the white one with gold text on it). What I like the most though is the director's chair. It reminds me of the dining chairs Will had on the show Will & Grace. I love the look!

Quick blog alert
This next blog I came across this week is called Design Dump. A great blog with fab images by Autum, an interior designer from the US. I've added Design Dump to my blog list and will be following.

Colour inspiration: Navy blues

In one of my previous posts I was inspired by the marine look. This lead me to make a little colour collage inspired by the colour navy blue. A strong and masculine colour that can still look feminine if you do it right. Here is a collection of my favorite images in navy.

Dutch design - Body measurements used to make porcelain tableware

The porcelain tableware that Dutch designer Digna Kosse makes is very unique. Her collection is called menselijke maat wich roughly translates to: human measurements. Digna has taken measurements of different parts of her body in volumes (litres) and she used these volumes to make the series of tableware. 'In this project, my body becomes a measure for consumption', Digna says. On every bowl, cup and dish an engravement is placed, that says which part of the body and which volume fit into it. Photographer Bieke Claessens

I'm drooling over Antwerp based photographer Bieke Claessens' portfolio. She photographs interiors but also shoots architecture, lifestyle, portraits and gardens. Some photographers don't show much of their work on their website, but I was happy to find Bieke's online portfolio has lots and lots of beautiful photographs to enjoy. Visit her website and you'll see for yourself

Wishlist - Five things to want right now... inspired by the marine look

The marine look is the new fashion trend for the summer and I've noticed this trend crossing over a bit to interior design. I came across a cool towel and knitted throw at the H&M online store and that inspired me to make a wishlist inspired by the marine look. How cool would it be to sit in your butterfly chair outside on a summer night, with these blue waxine candle lights lit around you. And when it gets a bit chilly you just wrap yourself in the knitted throw. To give your interior a bit of a beachy, marine look you can decorate a wall with the super cool scrapwood wall paper and decorate te room with clean white furniture with navy blue accessories. What do you think of this look?

1. Scrapwood wallpaper (via Bijzondermooi*), 2. Cotton towel (H&M home) 3. Knitted throw in darkbleu and white stripes (H&M home) 4. Waxine candle holder Light bleu by Pols Potten (via Bijzondermooi*) 5. White butterfly chair Nordal (via Deens meubelen*).

* These online stores only deliver in The Netherlands.
