Room crush ♥

I'm stopping by real quick to share with you a room that I fell in love with. I saw it over at 79 Ideas and now have a serious case of room crush! How cool and sexy is this room? I love the wallpaper, love the table, love the chairs and looove the lamp! The room could use a cool rug/carpet, but other than that, perfection. What do you think? P.s. I'm franticly looking for cool and elegant wallpaper. Anyone any tips as to where to look for/find this?

I especially enjoyed the interview with the talented blogger and stylist Victoria Smit of the blog SFgirlbybay. But there are many other articles you'll love to read and there is lots of eye candy. Mocca & Me weekend quick list

Hello there my lovely readers! How is your weekend going? I'm trying to have a quiet weekend, after a and hectic week where I was busy with work, out and about looking at apartments and trying to get organised after my laptop crashed a few days ago. I'm leaving you with some quick links of fab things you can't miss.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
Natascha xoxo

Eye candy

This room is my pick for eye candy of the week. I love the simple white sofa in combination with the cool black leather chair. I also love how much light gets into the room. I have a thing for great bookcases and shelving and so I adore the one displayed here. What do you think?

Run over to
Cherry Blossom! A fantastic blog filled with inspiring Norwegian design and interiors. I've added it to my list of lovely blog you need to know about.

Check out
This cool post MadeByGirl did a while ago on the Dutch designer Jan des Bouvrie and this post on Decor8 of a vistit to Dutch design label Moooi's Amsterdam showroom. Because I love to promote Dutch design and love it when others blog about the Dutchies.

Take a tour
In my previous post I mentioned how I love to look at other people's homes. Well, here is is a chance for more peeking into real people's homes. Check out the German website Freunde von Freunde.

Listen to
The song Airplanes by B.o.B. featuring Hayley Williams. I love it! Everytime I'm in my car and it comes on the radio I turn up the volume real high and sing along as loud as I can (hoping the windows won't crack :-)

One of my favorite Dutch interiors and decor magazine's VT Wonen now has a cool segment on it's website where they show real homes of real people. I've always loved to see how other people live and if you're like me you will enjoy these home tours. Below is a tiny selection of images. There are not many homes featured yet, but still worth checking it out. Go to www.vtwonen.nl/editors-choice/binnenkijken and enjoy!

Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk

For those of you who don't know Dutch designer Kiki van Eijk, here is a look a just some of her work. Kiki is especially known for the Kiki Carpet (see image below). Inspiration for this handmade carpet is the strange proportions of the decorations in 19th century doll houses. Kiki developed a technique were the final product looks like a giant embroidery-stiched piece. The design is from 2001 but is still very popular today. Meanwhile Kiki has done many collections and her work has been showcased in many museums and galeries. She has also collaborated with many established (Dutch) desing labels. To view all of her work visit her website www.kikiworld.nl.

Small living room looking grand and some colour inspiration

Who says a small living room can't look great? I love the room below. It's quite narrow but it doesn't feel like it is small, it is actually quite inviting. The tric is to splash on some cool colour on the wall (no patterns), use a colour pallete with no more that two colours and no clutter. A small room doesn't mean small furniture. You can put in a good size sofa in there, just keep the colour neutral and limit the number of other furniture to a minimum. Also, one good focal point on the wall gives the room depth. Nicely done!
And since I'm loving the green so much, here is some more green colour inspiration. As you can see, even small details like the cushion and the flowers can give, an otherwise dull room, a cool touch.

Or if you're a braver character you can choose to paint one or two furniture pieces into a funky accent colour. Would you dare?
