Mocca & Me weekend quick list

Hi there my lovely readers. I've been a bit absent this month but with good reason! I found a new apartment! It was my big new year's resolution and it feels realy good when you realise a goal. I am SO happy with the new place and have been busy painting, DIY-ing and decorating my new home. I still have lots to do and I'm far from finished, but I love the way the place is turning out. Now, you all might be curious to see what my new place looks like. I'm not ready to share photo's yet, but I will share with you the inspiration board I made before moving, to give you an idea of where I want to go with the apartment. And of course some quick links of great things to check out.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Natascha xoxo

Inspiration board
So this is the inspiration board I made for my living room. Top right is the colour (taupe-ish) I painted some of the walls in my living room and it looks fab. I bought most of the items featured here and loving the look. I do need an accent colour though, thinking of an olive green. What do you think?

Open house - the stunning blogger home of Tina of Signed by Tina

About a week ago I received an e-mail from Swedish blogger Tina of Signed by Tina asking me to swap links. I love the Swedish and their sense of style and ran over to Tina´s blog to check it out. On her blog I saw a few images of her dressingroom renovation and I was in awe. I immediately added her blog to my blogroll and asked Tina if I could share some images of her home here on my blog. She agreed and send me some amazing pictures of her home. Here is a home tour of Tina´s stunning home! I have no other words. I love her use of bold patterns and textures, she has a fantastic sense of style. This place is so chique and stylish, I love it!
And Tina has a great blog with lovely post to read, so read more about what inspires her on Signed by Tina.

Tina's flat is 90m2 large flat and it has 4 rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Tina says that say she collects inspirational images and from those images came the inspiration for this apartment.
I especially love the wallpapers. "I think I looked at thousands and thousands of wallpapers before we decided on these. The bedroom, living room and kitchen are all Cole&Son (if I remember correctly)" Tina says.

When you ask Tina which room is her favorite she says "I love all rooms equaly and I am very pleased with how it turned out."

Ofcourse we want some (money saving) decorating tips from Tina:
1. Make your own headboard and save hundreds,
2. Buy cheap furniture and decorate or paint them yourself. "We used upholstery nails on Ikea furniture and I just love the look!"
3. "Make your own curtain cornish out of cardboard I just made one to the cost of nothing and it looks great.
4. "I make most of my artwork myself. Cheap and also original.
5.Buy old furniture and chairs....paint and upholster them yourself.
The dressingroom wallpaper (image above) is from Midbec, it has the most gorgeous black flock with a silvery gold background. "I felt that the wallpapers were so important for the "mood" so we really splurged on those. We actually ordered them from overseas and by doing so we could cut the cost by 2/3. It is sort of my speciality" Tina explains.

Believe it or not, Tina and her beau did all the renovations themselves. Even the bathroom which was actually quite new but they didn't like the colours of the tiles and they actually painted them all with tile paint. It turned out great and it was low cost.

Kitchen inspiration

I was roaming through my album of collected pictures and found some amazing kitchens. I thought I'd share them with all of you. I am especially in love with the first kitchen! I love the minimalistic use of cabinets, the simple, clean lines and sober colours combined with the rustic wooden cooking island. Just pure perfection. I also like the wall painted with blackboard paint in the third image. I might try that one out... Which kitchen is your favorite?
