Let's visit... Donna Karan

Here is a look at Donna Karen's NY apartment. It is minimalistic with sober colours combined with asian influences. I can imagine that this apartment is a peaceful refuge for the busy fashion designer living in a hectic city. And even though there is a lot of black used throughout the place, it doesn't feel heavy, the space still feels very light and spacious. Nicely done Donna!

Living small but with maximum style! By Poliform

Most of us don't have the luxury of living in big houses and have to make the most of the small space we have. Poliform, an Italian design firm, has this wonderful project called My life in 80m2 where they show that you can have high design on a low budget in a small space! Check out the creative, innovative and super cool home Poliform created in a space of 80m2. A few of the best designers contributed to this project, including our very own Dutch Marcel Wanders, to create accessible design. Don't we love that! The website www.mylife80m.com is full of ideas and cool features and little suprises. Go and have a look!

Mocca & Me weekend quick list

My dears! This weekend started on a sad note as I am watching the news of the earthquake and tsunami hitting Japan! What a terrible thing! My heart goes out to all the people in Japan and I'm hoping this tsunami won't cause any more disaster in the rest of the world. I'm keeping this weekend quick list a bit sober this time...

Wishing you all a safe and blessed weekend!
Natascha xoxo

Eye candy

As in every weekend quick list I share an image of my favorite space this week. I chose this one as eye candy of the week because of it's calm and serene atmosphere. And I love the touches of yellow. I've heard that the colour yellow represents optimism, renewal and hope. And that is what I wish for the world right now.

Lonny issue March/April out now

Oh joy! The latest Lonny magazine is out! As always, filled with fantastic features on interior design and decor. Theme this time: Everyday Eco. My favorites: the new tie-dye trends (I want every item featured!), a how-to accessorize with flair, a look into Stella McCartney's LA boutique and a great home tour of a NY apartment. You will enjoy reading this issue as much as I did and it will leave you filled with inspiration and ideas. Go to www.lonnymag.com for the website or click here for the magazine.

New online magazine: Dabble

It seems like online magazine's are popping up everywhere nowadays. But I sure am very happy about the launch of Dabble! Dabble is a truly fantastic online magazine about decor, travel and food - my favorite things!!! The decor features are fresh, the food items make your mouth water and the travel reports just make me wanna pack my bag right now and fly abroad!

This first issue of Dabble is filled with great stuff: tips on DIY, how to select tiles, how to style your hallway, a mini interview with Diana von Furstenberg to name a few decor features. Dabble also takes you to Nashville, Ethiopia and Prague! And you'll learn how to make your own sushi and a few delicious Cuban dishes. I LOVE this mag, I'm so excited about it and I urge you to drop everything you're doing and check out Dabble right now: www.dabblemag.com. Seriously, what are you still doing here? Go!

Photographer Sharyn Cairns

I am so glad to feature some of the work of Australian photographer Sharyn Cairns. Besides shooting beautiful interiors she also has some amazing lifestyle and food photographs in her portfolio. The food photo's really make me very hungry! Below is a look at a small portion of her interior photograps. I love how she captures so much light in all of the spaces. To view her full portfolio go to www.sharyncairns.com.au.

Thank you once more!

What a lovely surprise I had when I went to check my stats today and saw that last month Mocca & Me had over 4.000 unique visitors! A new record for my little blog! Lately I have been feeling a bit uninspired, but this certainly kicked the enthusiasm right back in! So, thank you all so much for visiting and leaving your lovely comments and sweet remarks! It means the world to me :-)

A very big kiss,
Natascha xoxo

Room crush ♥

Even though I'm a earth-tone kinda girl I fell head over heel for this room! I love the calm and serene feel of this space. I believe the basic colour is a very very pale grey/bleu-ish white. Adding a few great accesories in a stronger colour, like the cushions and the artwork above the fireplace, makes the space perfect. Yep, I love this room!
