Mocca & Me weekend quick list - week 43/2011

Hello dears! How is your weekend going? I'm having a good one. Today I visited the Dutch Design Week event in Eindhoven with a friend. It was so wonderful to see great and inspiring design. I'll be sharing some of my finds here on Mocca & Me the coming week. Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your weekend. And for those of you celebrating Halloween, have fun and be safe!

Take care!

Eye candy
Big black corner sofa and a huge window. You don't need much more than that. Love this room.

Famous show sets
Here is a link to the website of set designer Christina Tonkin who designed the sets for the shows Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Roam around Carry Bradshaw's apartment or the Waldorff residence.

Quick blog tip
You'll love this great little fashion blog called Oh, fashion! It's written in Portugese, but there is a translator button so you can translate the posts. But in any case, the photo's shared on this blog are a feast for the eyes. Worth checking out.

House tour
Check out this beautiful beach side home over at Desire to Inspire. Ah, makes me want to go on vacation right now...

Dabble magazine's latest issue is out now! Filled with decor, travel and food inspiration. Oh joy!

Great organizing tip
I'm always reaching to the floor to find the different tangled up cables of my printer, usb cord, electricy cord to connect to my laptop. I don't have a dockingstation. Here is a super simple way to organize these cables so they'll never have to get on the floor looking for cables again.

Listen to
I've been hearing the song Welcome to St. Tropez by Dj. Antoine on the radio a lot lately and it gets me in a good mood every time. And when I'm in my car I turn up the volume really loud and sing along. Enjoy!

Feeling kinda heavy! Concrete lamps...

Concrete lamps, you say? Yes, that's exactly what I said. I discoverd some lamps made of concrete! Now that in itself makes them cool items! I love the rough look and simplicity of these lamps. I think the first lamp, inspired by the shape of the lightbulb, is my favorite. You should really make sure they're securely attached to the ceiling. You don't want these lamps to fall on your head, ha!

These Beton lamps are available in two sizes and three shades of concrete. Also available via webshop Sooo.

Room crush ♥

Well, it's not actually a room I have a crush on. It's more the neon pink paint colour. I came across these images and I fell head over heals with this wall! Isn't it just stunning? Although my home doesn't have a lot of colour - it's more a mix of taupe, beige, browns and neutrals - I realy feel like painting a wall this exact same neon pink colour! Maybe one of the walls in the hall. Hhhmmm, not sure. Or I could just do a colour accent, like in the second image. What do you think? Love it or hate it?

Photographer Björn Wallander

While roaming the internet I stumbled upon Swedish photographer Björn Wallander. I love the Scandinavian style of decorating and his work gives us a window into a few of the nicest homes. Here is a little peak at Björn's work. If you want to see his online portfolio visit his website www.bjornwallander.com. You will find some beautiful lifestyle photographs, portraits and personal work on his website as well. Worth checking out!

Decorating tip! Revamp your home with Stickyicky®

Hi all! I've been a bit absent lately but I have been ill with a horrible cold and I also just started a new project at work and I was too sick or tired the rest of the time to blog. But I'm back with new energy. Today I want to share a great little decorating tip! You all know the photo wallpapers and larger then life sized images you can decorate your wall with. They are perfect to give an otherwise boring room a little splash of fab. But I can imagine that not all of us have the guts, or a big enough wall or the money to do an enormous image. Well, I have some good news (at least for those of you here in the Netherlands)! Now you can put ANY image on any kind of item you want. The company that makes this possible is Stickyicky® and they can put your image on a fridge, table, door, napkin container, you name it. But also on walls, ofcourse. Stickyicky® is based here in the Netherlands and (for now) only delivers in Holland. They do commercial projects as well as smaller private commissions. Want to pimp your fridge? Below are some ideas of what's possible. You can contact Stickyicky® via www.stickyicky.nl for more information.
